What Headset Do You Use?
While I was placing an order down for a new headset to replace the one I'm wearing now, I suddenly became curious about what kind of headsets does everyone else use at this current moment? The one I'm currently wearing right now is a Logitech Stereo Headset H250 Graphite which has done quite well in the past year I've had it but at the moment I've been getting annoyed with the sound quality in it and the fact it seems to blast out with echoes from whatever I'm doing down the microphone. If you want a price on this model it cost me about £15.
So now I've upgraded myself after asking a few mates over Facebook who I did IT with about what the next one I should get is and they gave me this:
Apparently it suited them quite well and the colour is something I like since it matches all the other items on my desk. This model is a SteelSeries Siberia V2 FullSize Headset. Cost me another £50 getting this thing but hopefully the sound quality from both my microphone and headset will be a lot better!

I used to use a Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000, which was a good entry level no-strings headset, until it got run-over by a hoover.
I use a Plantronics GameCom now. Sound quality is much better, it has Dolby 7.1 Surround sound, and while I am not much of a connoisseur of sound quality, it ticks all the boxes for me. Only downside is it feels a bit flimsy in places and I have been having some issues with microphone sensitivity. Other than that, pretty good all-rounder for around £45.
I am a very amateur audiophile, so take this advice with a grain of salt. You would be much better off buying regular headphones, and then spending money on a mic to put on your desk or attach to your mic.
Here's an alright mic for very cheap: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zalman-ZM-MIC1-ZMMIC1-Lapel-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1426253843&sr=8-2&keywords=zm-1
Here's a few headphones for cheap aswell. here and here
Personally I have Audio-Technica ATH-M50x and Audio-Technica ATR-4750.
I've had a Steelseries Siberia V3 for the past three years. They're not cheap, but comfy and they don't break. Excellent sound quality; Dolby 5.1 built in.
I use a Corsair Vengeance
I actually preferred my old headset, a Creative Fatality headset. Was cheap as hell (29.99) and the hard plastic broke before any audio components.
I had plantronics gamecon I loved and they broke. I currently use the x12 turtle beaches.
I love my Tritton's. Just wish Steam cooperated with USB connections better...
MadKatz F.R.E.Q. 7. Dolby 7.1 surround sound, even if your game only has 5.1, and matches my mouse...
I have the Sennheiser Game Zero
I got a Corsair Raptor HS40
Logitech G430
First decent pair I ever bought.
I'm happy with them: Cheap and work great.
So my headset came a day after I posted this topic up and so far the quality of it is just the same as the last except I have rubber protection around my ears to block outside noises. Surprisingly the difference in feel of my games and music is amazing now with just that little touch and the microphone I can pull in and out whenever I want. Certainly worth the dosh I put in to it, the only annoyance I have is the cable extension which makes it too long or when I remove it makes it too short.
I'm using the same thing as TSgt.
Great quality for little money, definitely recommend it.
I am in the same Boat as the Major. I have had two different sets of of Tritton's. I am using the AX pro 720 right now an love them. They also have amazing customer service
I rock my PS3 Wireless set. Work great, even with the comp and I can easily switch them out with the PS3 & at some point a PS4.
The Razer hydra headset, I have had this thing for 3 years now. Great quality and very durable I love it!
Hey guys, im looking for a new headset (wireless) thats better than the one I currently have and isn't too expensive, mines just had its wear and tear over the years and is reaching the end of it's life, any suggestions? I currently have an Afterglow Wireless Headset.
Logitech G930 is a good one, 120 dollars i believe.
You will also save alot by buying a pair of headphones and a mic separately. I have wireless Samsung headphones with a blue snowball mic. The quality of each is better than a headset and it worked out cheaper overall.
Used to have this, until one of the ear thing died, so now I use it's younger brother!
Corsair H1500: 7.1 surround, high clarity sound, decent quality mic, very comfortable and fairly cheap for the quality. The one problem I have is that occasionally it doesn't function (when headphones stop functioning, you need to unplug and replug it into a USB port).
Anything any of you would recommend for 100 USD or less? I'm looking into upgrading from my sony head set and clip on mic. >>
Kingston HyperX Cloud II just for 100 bucks, great feedback and splendid quality.
Depending on if you want open or closed, open headsets give a bigger "soundstage", meaning it's sometimes easier to pinpoint directions of noises, but noise will leak from the outside as well as people around you will hear sound leaking from your headphones. Closed headphones have a smaller soundstage, meaning it's somewhat harder to detect but noise won't leak noise outside or inside. Neither are "worse" than the other, just offer different things.
I'd recommend buying a nice pair of headphones then using your clip on mic, frankly the Logitech, HyperX, whatever headsets with mics are crap and not worth even $40.

Some I bought in a local supermarket at the price of 10 euros
I use these currently, very flexible, cheap and pretty good audio for the price. It's the Steelseries siberia 200. I bought for about $60 USD and have been enjoying them since.
