There is a documentary of Dave Grohl's project for Sound City. Basically about a old sound board that was used back in the day, gave it a "certain" sound that he loved. So he bought it and tossed it in his studio and recorded a album with a number of different artists... Its a good way to spend some time if you're into that sorta thing.
