    Men I Trust - Lauren

  • 10/10 love me some Men I Trust!

    Sun June - Karen O

  • 7/10 - Relaxing music, soothing voice.

Now for something completely opposite of what I just said:

    Jorn - "Faith Bloody Faith"

(Another song that competed in Norway's Melodi Grand Prix 2021. Made it to the top 4. Rock on!)

  • 8/10 - No wonder it was top 4, very nice song.

Now for some video games song, Guilty Gear always had the best song for fighting games in my opinion.

  • 3/10 not my style at all, though i could see it psyching me up during gameplay!

Playing a longboat full of Valheim right now so I've built a playlist to enjoy while exploring purgatory beneath the great branches of Yggdrasil. This is one of my fav tracks.

Wardruna, Aurora and Oslo Fagottkor: "HELVEGEN"

  • 10/10 - Doesn't get more Norwegian than this!

Kaizers Orchestra - "Drøm videre Violeta"

  • 7/10 Somehow I can imagine blasting this while under the sun on a hot road trip.

The White Shoes - Ye Good Ol' Days

  • Cool retro vibes 7/10

Plini - I'll Tell You Someday

  • 7/10 - That's some crazy good drumming in the intro.

I love songs with ethnic elements, and here's one from Turkey:

    Şebnem Paker - "Çal"

7/10 Reminds me of crazy nights in the Balkans!

This song is from one of my favorite bands, Thingy. Lead by Pinback's Rob Crow, they are an absurdly awesome pixies-esque band from the late 90's. Mathy, alternative grungy goodness. Also check out Heavy Vegetable, as they are essentially the same band... The song in particular has some serious slowcore vibes, and really builds into something great.

    Thingy - Numb

  • 7/10 - It's not something I would listen to all the time, but it certainly is very good for very specific moments and situations. Overall I think it's pretty good.

It's hard for me to chose what song to put but I'll do an amorphis song just because I listen to them so much, I could listen to any of their songs all day so I'll just put this in.

    In the Abyss - Amorphis

  • 7/10 - Good stuff, just not my style of music.

The Allman Brothers Band - "Melissa"

7/10 i've been listening to The Band a lot while cooking lately. Very loosely similar vibes.

    The Band - King Harvest

  • 9/10 - Very lovely rock vibes. You've given me a new band to listen to.

"American Pie" - Don McLean (Shortened Version/Radio Edit)
Takes a minute to build up, give it a chance.

  • 10/10 I like the long version more, but this is a masterpiece

    Don McLean - Vincent

  • 6/10

    Loretta Lynn - "Fist City"

  • 9/10
    What in the world XD

    Chris Stapleton - "Tennessee Whiskey"

  • edited March 2021

6/10 sounds good but combines a little bit too much country for me.

The Searchers - Don't Throw Your Love Away (64)
I think this video replaced the original audio, but anyway; Always loved the Merseybeat stuff.

EDIT: Changed to a different song.

  • 7/10 - Pretty nice

Mariya Takeuchi 竹内 まりや Plastic Love
A classic from the city pop genre. (There are english subs)

9/10 this always reminds me of hometown on a rainy night

    Keane - Sovereign Light Cafe

7/10 - Enjoyable song, but I like "Somewhere Only We Know" and "Everybody's Changing" way more.

I also enjoyed the groovy "Plastic Love". I did some research and found that the song became somewhat of a viral hit on YouTube just a few years ago, despite being released in 1984. City pop sounds like the Japanese answer to the American West Coast/AOR music of the late 70s/early 80s (a style that fuses pop, rock, jazz and funk). Here's Norway's answer to that:

    Lava - "Give It Up"

  • 7/10

The Avalanches - Since I Left You (Prince Paul Remix)

  • 7/10 Cowboy Bebop vibes

Blue Oyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper

  • 8/10 that cowbell

Dope Lemon - Salt & Pepper

Hope you all have a chill weekend

  • 8/10 Far out man

Nine Days - "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)"

7/10 - Thanks for the early 2000s nostalgia.

Talking about early 2000s... this band certainly took influence from Linkin Park, and I think it's so cool that this song will represent Finland in this year's Eurovision Song Contest:

    Blind Channel - "Dark Side"

By the way, if this thread won't be transferred over to our new forums on Discourse, I'll start a new one over there myself.

  • 7/10 Never heard of them but definitely bring back my 2000 rock vibes

    Kurosuke - Moscato
